Allen Nejah is the Founder & CEO of InfiniGear Robotics, and of SunMan Engineering, a Silicon Valley based engineering company established in 1990. With a passion for innovation and a keen eye for disruptive technologies, Allen has spearheaded numerous successful ventures throughout his illustrious career. From gigabit fiber channel products to connected car applications, Allen’s entrepreneurial journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence.
But it was a seemingly mundane moment on a mountain biking trail that sparked the inspiration for InfiniGear Robotics. As Allen navigated the challenging terrain, grappling with the cumbersome process of gear changing, a thought struck him: “There has to be a better way.” This simple question evolved into a revolutionary idea—an expanding gear mechanism that would later become the heart of the iGear system (C). With this concept, it soon became clear that it was ideally suited for heavy EVs, where optimal torque and speed are paramount to make moving heavy loads more effective and efficient. The iGear system (C) can handle those large loads while increasing range by 30% with a lighter, simpler design. The company has built a half-transmission and has a working demo of a full dual iGear system (C) assembly to use in transmission gearboxes.
