The technology enables a streamlined gearbox design with fewer than 200 components, drastically reducing complexity and weight versus traditional gearboxes with over 1000 components. Its efficiency stems from a unique, software-driven design featuring just two telescopic gears, dynamic gear ratios, and linear shifting. This AI-driven system optimizes gear ratios in real-time, adjusting dynamically to load and terrain, ensuring vehicles always operate at peak performance, addressing load, a key performance issue. This reduces stress on the vehicle’s powertrain and extends its lifespan, leading to lower ownership costs and better performance. AI-driven predictive shifting offers additional efficiency, performance, and safety.
By minimizing component count and weight, the system reduces battery requirements, allowing for longer ranges or fewer batteries and shorter charging times, a key barrier to heavy EV adoption. Applicable across a wide range of vehicles and industrial machinery, from motorcycles to heavy trucks, the AI robotic gearbox can increase energy efficiency by 25-30%. A fully operational prototype “half-transmission” supports light mobility applications, while a full transmission demo unit supports larger vehicle modeling and simulation.
